Emerging Maker at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

It gave me great delight to be asked to feature as an ’emerging maker’ at this years Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester. They spotted me at New Designers, and are including me in their Emerging Talent section, which is just fantastic! The fair runs from the 9th – 11th October, and it looks very interesting with over 175 selected designer-makers; look here for the textile page.

Best I get on with the preparations…..panel_gnccf

Invitation to participate in this years Mint exhibition

I had some exciting news a little while back, I’ve been asked to participate in the Mint exhibition, called ‘Twisting Tradition’, for this years London Design Festival.

Mint is a gallery located in Kensington. It is renowned for its contemporary collections and dedication to showcasing the latest emerging talents. I  feel  that it is a huge honour to be invited to take part. They have asked me to show my embroidered, digitally printed cushions.

The London Design Festival, and the Mint exhibition takes place on the 19th-27th September 2015

Update on Abbey Dore exhibition

Main Bouquet Cushion

The exhibition at Dore Abbey, in the village of Abbey Dore (Herefordshire) went very successfully, my cushions were a sell out! The exhibition as a whole was well attended and well received, and the week that I spent sat in that beautiful abbey, although cold, was hugely enjoyable. The choir, who sang every day as part of a week long course held by The English Choral Experience, are lovely people with lovely voices! The exhibition was curated by Merryn Lloyd, who is herself a wonderful potter. Dates for next year are 24th -31st July 2016, so pop them in your diary! However Dore Abbey is a beautiful place to visit any time of year.

Exhibition at Abbey Dore

Next week (19th – 25th July) I will be exhibiting in the beautiful setting of Abbey Dore in Herefordshire. The week long exhibition is put on by The English Choral Experience, and it is well worth a visit; I stewarded the exhibition last year and was very impressed with the quality of the work by the exhibitors and the reception of the visiting public to the event. If you time it right you’ll also hear the beautiful choral singing in the Abbey, which I definitely enjoyed last year. To find out more about this event then head to The English Choral Experience.

I’m stewarding the exhibition again this year, so come and have a look and say hello……

Here are some photos that I took last year:

New Designers

Form the 24th – 27th June I exhibited my degree collection at New Designers which is held annually at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. It was a tiring week, but well worth it! My interiors collection was very well received; I had some wonderful compliments and interest from companies looking for freelancers. It also looks like I will have some exciting opportunities to sell my work to the public, await further news! I definitely came home feeling happy and relieved that it had all been so worth it 🙂
